Professional Resistive Touch Screen

F787-12Retail uses analog resistive touch technology which delivers reliant performance in environments where equipment must stand up to dust and liquids such as in retail and industrial environment. It is compatible with the Windows 2000, XP (32-bit), Vista (32-bit), Linux and Android operating systems, provides a long touch life (minimum 10 million touches), and accepts input from both a bare and a gloved hand.

Available in Dynamic Configurations

To meet the needs of different industrial environments, this monitor is available in five configurations: standard (with stand), free mount (no stand), chassis, panel mount, open panel and rack mount.

IP65 Rating

Optional the front panel of the panel mount configuration is IP65-rated meaning it can withstand dust ingress and is protected against low-pressure water jets. This durability ensures the monitor is ideal for commercial deployment.

PC and AV Inputs

A D-Sub mini 15 pin analog input is included for connecting to PCs. Composite (RCA) and S-video inputs which support NTSC, PAL, and SECAM are included for connecting to audio/visual equipment. To reduce noise (ghosting) with NTSC signals, both the composite and S-Video inputs have a 3-dimensional Y/C separation circuit. Other optional inputs include DVI, HDMI.

Underscan and Normal Display

Both underscan and normal display settings are available. Underscan shows the entire image and is ideal for watching video. Normal display about 95% of the image – eliminating extraneous TV broadcasting data that sometimes appears at the edge of the screen.

Mercury-Free, White LED Backlight

The LED backlight is more energy efficient than the CCFL backlights used with most LCD monitors. Even at the maximum brightness setting of 780 cd/m2, the monitor consumes just 20 watts of power. Since the backlight is mercury free, it will have minimal impact on the environment when it is disposed of.

Durable Construction

The cabinets do not contain any ventilation holes and the perimeter of the control buttons are sealed, making these monitors impervious to liquids and dust. It’s designed for 24/7 operation.

Introduction to iNteractive Touchscreen Technology

Touchscreen monitors have become more and more commonplace as their price has steadily dropped over the past decade. The current wide applications of touchscreens include touch directory; digital restaurant menu, digital catalog, point of sales, & interactive digital signage.

There are 3 conventional & basic systems that are used to recognize a person’s touch: resistive, capacitive, surface acoustic wave.

The latest F787 series HD interactive touch will be based on optical-touch sensor with sensing technology which allows more flexibility, interactivity & durability.

The resistive system consists of a normal glass panel that is covered with a conductive and a resistive metallic layer. These two layers are held apart by spacers, and a scratch-resistant layer is placed on top of the whole setup. An electrical current runs through the two layers while the monitor is operational. When a user touches the screen, the two layers make contact in that exact spot. The change in the electrical field is noted and the coordinates of the point of contact are calculated by the computer. Once the coordinates are known, a special driver translates the touch into something that the operating system can understand, much as a computer mouse driver translates a mouse’s movements into a click or a drag.
